Busan Port is Korea’s principal container gateway on the Korea Strait and handles extensive transshipment traffic. Busan Port Authority’s operating geography comprises Busan New Port, North Port and Gamcheon Port, together with passenger and service facilities. New Port provides seven container terminals with published waterside depths of 16-20 m, including the fully automated Pier 7 terminal opened in April 2024. North Port retains container, multipurpose and passenger functions, while Gamcheon Port handles general cargo, steel, cement, timber and fishery products. Development-plan berths are excluded from operating figures.
