Pohang Port serves Korea’s east coast beside the Pohang steel and materials cluster.
Its cargo role is centred on iron ore, coal, steel products, oil, cement, sand and general cargo, with container capability at Yeongilman Port. The operating complex is divided into Pohang New Port (Sinhang), Pohang Old Port and Yeongilman Port. New Port (Shinhang) includes deep berths for large bulk carriers, while Yeongilman adds four 30,000 DWT container berths and an international passenger berth.
